Li Volk
A native of Wuhan, China, Li moved to the southern city of Shenzhen in 1990, and moved to the United States in 2001. Her professional career in marketing and branding started in 1992 as co-founder of the first design and marketing firm in Shenzhen, China.
Li always knew that there was an artistic side of her that was waiting to be developed. She didn’t take the art path until later in life, and began her art study at Southern Atelier in the summer of 2016. Li has developed a strong sensibility and ability to capture a sitter's emotion and beauty in her portraiture works over the years.
At early years of her study, she studied with many International Master Artists. Legendary American Master Artists Max Ginsburg, and Paul Ingbretson; American Master Artist Steven Assael, Dan Thompson, and Robert Liberace; Chinese Master Artists such as Huihan Liu, Zhaoming Wu, and Jove Wang etc…Those experiences have been shaping her development tremendously.
Li has won many awards. In July 2023, receiving an award from the 16th ARC International Salon Competition (the largest representational art competition in the world) at Sotheby’s New York, was the highlight of her career. She has found her path in the art of the portraiture. She is a member of Portrait Society of America since 2021.
